Huntington’s NSW & ACT was established in 1975 to develop support and education programs for people affected by Huntington’s Disease (HD). The Association assists those affected by the disease to understand and cope. Its purpose is to be a strong voice and advocate for better services for those affected by Huntington’s Disease. Huntington’s NSW & ACT now seeks to establish and provide support coordination services and a newly created role for a Senior Support Coordinator NDIS has been created. This will complement the Association’s purpose.
As an experienced NDIS Support Coordinator your mandate is to plan, develop and grow the support coordination function for the organisation. Reporting directly to the Executive Officer, working with a Project Officer and team, the role will focus on raising awareness of the support coordination function amongst members. The NDIS Support Coordinator will also ensure that Huntington’s NSW & ACT provides a comprehensive, robust and compliant targeted support coordination function for its members.
Using your demonstrated business development skills, you will develop and implement strategies to grow the support coordination function, essential with NDIS. You will be instrumental in ensuring Huntington’s NSW & ACT members have access to appropriate services that will positively impact daily living quality of life, support, and care. You will build relationships and networks with agencies, other service providers, member associations, Westmead Huntington’s clinic and experts in the neurodegenerative field, ensuring you are abreast of industry and service changes to offerings that may impact members. You will be a bit of a trailblazer in the support coordination space within these communities.
Who you are:
A deep understanding of NDIS and the purpose of support coordination for clients is essential. You have a track record of building awareness of NDIS support and its coordination for clients. You are dynamic and have the skills and experience to facilitate growth and development of these services to clients / members, from ‘start up’. Your ‘can-do’ attitude will bring people along with you.
You have experience in service design, continuous improvement and capacity building in the NDIS space. You will become highly respected because of your specialised knowledge of the system, agencies, services, and complexity of the disease.
You are comfortable with travel and meeting face to face with members, clients and various stakeholders, passionately representing this for-purpose organisation on a daily basis.
Along with your motivation, strong work ethic, resilience, and planning abilities, you will ideally have a relevant Tertiary qualification or equivalent and appropriate experience in a similar role. A current NSW Driver’s Licence and access to your own car is essential.
