Chief Executive Officer
- An organisational brand that is respected, care and community focussed
- Coveted job in the lower Blue Mountains
- Excellent salary package and supportive Board of Directors
This is a great organisation:
Buckland Aged Care Services was founded in 1934 by Sir Thomas Buckland, a wealthy businessman and philanthropist and retains its heritage as a for-purpose organisation.
Located at Springwood in environmentally sensitive and significant surrounds, it now provides care focussed and commercially successful targeted retirement living and residential aged care services, specific to the lower Blue Mountains community. Unsurprisingly, Buckland’s success has been driven by a community-connected Board of Directors working with the CEO and executive team. Governance and strong relationships have been key.
The Board now seeks an aged care leader to step into the shoes of their retiring CEO, after a significant tenure and impressive contribution.
A bit about the job:
Success as the CEO will include sustaining a reputation that is in keeping with the historical success of services provided. In simple terms, the expectation is
that the way you lead the business is strategically focussed yet granular as well, in that resident needs and expectations are met.
It is being on the front foot with risk management and strong clinical governance. Compliance is obviously a big-ticket item also. To deliver on Board vision and strategy and provide high-quality care will continue to be an absolute priority.
Buckland has both a strong asset base and finances. Planning for the effective utilisation of those assets is required. You will also oversee and deliver a
significant refurbishment project that is imminent.
And you are:
An executive with previous leadership and management experience of aged care service operations. Astute commercially, with a balanced care and financial performance focus, you have high personal standards and thrive on the ‘listen, explore, discover’ component of leadership. You are skilled at helping people realise their potential and adept at developing services that meet client needs and expectations. You will become the recognised leader of Buckland Aged Care Services.
Knowing the importance of brand protection in aged care is something you have a handle on. Your track record is evidence that you are well positioned to ensure risk, compliance, care and contemporary accommodation and services are all appropriately managed.
You are intuitive and compassionate in leadership style, these qualities inspire others. To investigate and embark on great journeys with your team and residents, creating better ways to serve the Buckland community where possible, is something that will give you great energy. You are smart enough, however, to quickly establish that if the status quo is fine, then it is fine.
A tertiary qualification in health, business or similar is essential.
